We were called out to look at a leaky evaporator for a residential customer in Mesquite. Our techs found the evaporator coil in the 2.5 ton central A/C was leaking badly; the coil needed replacement.
In some cases, the evaporator coil must be ordered; so it can take more than one day to complete the repair.
However one of our resourceful technicians was able to find the coil locally and picked it up. He was able to complete the evaporator coil replacement – same day!

The evaporator coil works with the indoor unit, functioning with the air conditioner or heat pump to cool and condition indoor air that flows over it by drawing out heat and moisture.

How It Works
An evaporator coil is located indoors and is either installed with your furnace or as part of your air handler. Inside the coil, the refrigerant evaporates as it absorbs heat from the indoor air that passes over it. The coil essentially serves as a “heat exchanger,” working with your heating system in the winter and your cooling system in the summer.
Keep Your Evaporator Coil Clean
